Deliciously Ella with Holly Tucker ‘Building resilience’
Deliciously Ella Building resilience with Holly Tucker – Founder of notonthehightreet.com.
They talk about the struggles and successes of starting your own small business.
This podcast resonated with me mainly due to their discussion about ‘finding your why’. This is of the most profound questions you can ask yourself about not only your work life, but your dreams and aspirations in every aspect of your life. The ‘Why’ will be the most powerful driver for anything you do and provide a long-term purpose for you.
From a business sense they discuss how the core purpose of your company which both you and your customers can follow is the most powerful component of a business.
My thoughts have turned to actively thinking about my ‘why’ since writing my blogs on happiness and the blue zones. It’s amazing how powerful identifying this purpose can be – for example, on reading The Blue Zones of Happiness: Lessons from the World’s Happiest People by Dan Buettner it struck me that he states purpose as a key component of happiness. Personally, I think having a purpose filters through to other aspects of your life, having something your passionate about, succeeding in achieving your purpose and giving you a huge sense of pride and life satisfaction.
I’d be really interested to hear what your ‘Why’ is – let me know, post a comment. It’s amazing how putting it into words can give you a real sense of purpose, drive to better yourself and succeed in whichever area of life you are most passionate about.
